Legendary 90s Sydney rock band The Stepfords got together for a reunion a couple of weeks ago and it was sensational. This is the opening song of the night, ‘I Can See Hell’.
I shot the video with a Canon 5DMkIII and even though the light wasn’t the best in the old Bat and Ball pub, the music and atmosphere made up for it. The sound quality is really nice as my Zoom H4N was plugged into the mixing board. Jim Bowman from The Stepfords did a remix of the 4-channel Zoom recording for the video.
The Stepfords are a five-piece rock band formed in Sydney in the early 1990s featuring singer Monica McMahon, guitarists Jon Schofield and Jim Bowman, bassist Clyde Bramley and drummer Iain Shedden. They released two albums, ‘Gas, Food and You’ and ‘Stepfords Live’ in the 90s and supported acts such as The Cruel Sea, Tony Joe White and Paul Kelly as well as performing regularly in and around Sydney. They re-formed after an eight-year lay-off in April 2015 to play Sydney’s Bat and Ball Hotel, the venue where they had a residency for almost two years at the start of their career. The show was to celebrate Jon’s birthday and the first time the band has been filmed performing live.
There could be more. Stay tuned.
